A Riwaka wedding
CommentWhen I think of the top of the South, the greens, blues and gold come to mind. In early January, we were surrounded by these hues for Prasanthi and Wilbur’s wedding at the stunning Riwaka Resurgence. Te Puna o Riuwaka is a wahi tapu for both Te Atiawa and Ngati Rarua, a place whose waters heal and sustain the body and spirit of those who seek them. Bathing is permitted here, and on such a HOT summers’ day it wasn’t long before everyone had toes in the water - though the spring never rises above 10°C. From here to Brooklyn and then the Lower Moutere Hall, we had an amazing time capturing celebrations with these two, and getting to share the day with their friends and whanau (including my old Parliament colleagues). Massive thank you to all!
A Goldie Estate wedding
CommentWith 2019 almost at a close, Dave and I were fortunate enough to find ourselves shooting another beautiful Olsen wedding, after Ashly and Matty got hitched a couple of years ago in Pongakawa. This time it was to be Jamie Olsen and Anna Gibson’s turn, and when we first met them back then, things were looking pretty romantic indeed (it’s impossible to find a photo where they aren’t 100% stoked). Anna and Jamie met on Tinder while living across the ditch, with high flying careers keeping them and each other on their toes, and long distances providing a challenge to rise to - but love navigates all paths and inevitably, home and Waiheke came calling. These two couldn’t have chosen a more perfect setting for their day than Goldie Estate. I can see Anna and Jamie celebrating their golden anniversary here one day, but I doubt it’ll take that long before they’re back! It was magic - thanks for having us Gibsons and Olsens.
